Te Anau Retro Retreat

Although there are 4 bedrooms, there is only one toilet in the whole house! One(upstairs)of the 2 bathrooms(both have no toilet facility) is smelly!

Retro is an understatement Positive: Location was great! Got immediate responses back from the owners so communication was also a positive experience. Negative: Retro is an understatement in the decor. Transported back in time is one thing, old containers with coffee dust and furniture thats 70 years old is another. More trash cans in the bedrooms would be helpful.

Positive: The beds were comfy Negative: I thought I was booking a styled vintage home however this felt more like staying in someones holiday home rather than a house designed for hosting. There was personal items throughout, front yard unkept, decor felt mismatched and not any one era. We also suffered an eczema flare up so I suspect the owners have pets that attend the property. The linen was all mismatched and sun damaged. Tea & coffee was in old jars so I wasnt sure how long it had been there, sugar was left out so we didnt want to use it - one 1 sugar packet was there. It wasnt enjoyable for us and we couldnt wait to move on
